Press Conference: Civic Health and UnemploymentSeptember 16, 2011
During the 66th Annual National Conference on Citizenship, NCoC and its partners released an issue brief entitled "Civic Health and Unemployment: Can Engagement Strengthen the Economy?" This report found important connections between a community's civic engagement rates and its ability to weather the economic downturn.
The report was produced in partnership with CIRCLE, Civic Enterprises, Saguaro Seminar, and the National Constitution Center. It is available for download at NCoC.net/unemployment. This video is of NCoC Executive Director David B. Smith announcing the report findings during a press conference held in partnership with the National Constitution Center.
