Achievements
Since its founding in 1999, MassVOTE has:
- Helped Boston nonprofits increase voter participation for five years in a row, most dramatically in areas with lower voting rates. Working with nonprofits, we have erased the voting gap between blacks and whites and watch voting rates soar among the city’s many new citizens.
- Worked with Election Departments and the Secretary of State to improve poll procedures and encourage more open voter registration and voter participation
- Established nonprofit vote initiatives in the states seven major cities from Boston to Worcester to Springfield.
- Submitted election reform legislation to the Legislature
- Established partnerships with Kids Voting USA, public agencies, churches, schools, colleges, and voting rights organizations to promote voting and voter education statewide.
